about

A woman with short brown hair holds a gold cup close to her lips, standing against a stone wall. She wears a black top decorated with colorful tarot and mystical symbols.

Siobhán is based in Edinburgh, moving slowly eastward from California to Chicago to Salem before settling in Scotland.

She’s been drawing for 30 years, reading cards for 20, and has studied wine through WSET, earning a Level 3 with Merit.

Cards & zines are available at HausWitch, The House of Seven Gables, Black Moon Botanica, and Wheel of Fate.

Outside of wine witchery she might be found in her back garden, on a plane, or chasing after an intrepid toddler.

What… also, Why?

Wine and tarot have cult followings and from arcane symbols to appellation laws, they can be daunting for the initiate. However, each subject offers mutual insight with surprisingly apt correspondences.

Drawing connections can reinforce meanings within these vast knowledge bases, helping you to recall a card’s key words, or perhaps what your preferred red is.

I started in the WSET program at the same moment that I decided to deepen my tarot practice. What I found were echoes of these stories and archetypes in the vineyard and winemaking processes, as well as flavours and styles that reflected the imagery and key connections of the cards.

It also felt like a natural extension of ways you might already engage with these things — getting together with friends, opening a bottle of wine to share, and asking “should we pull some cards?”

Dating back to 2019, I devised this system entirely on my own, channeling the corresponding varietal for each of the 78 cards of a tarot deck.

I use it to offer mini readings & matching tastings, but you can use these ideas to pull a card on what wine to bring to a party, or to astrologically align with lunations and holidays.

My tarot philosophy & my approach to wine are largely the same:

  • making things approachable and empowering

  • encouraging questions and vulnerability

  • inspiring curiosity and discovery

  • getting a little whimsical in my descriptions

  • indulging, but being guided by Temperance
